Barbadian singer-songwriter Rihanna announced that she would be headlining the 2023 Super Bowl LVII halftime show. This mark her's first live performance in over five years.
After the announcement, she released a new song “Born Again” from Marvel's film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack on November 10, 2022.
The song is her second single off of the soundtrack, following “Lift Me Up” released last month.
Rumors spread of her long-awaited new album after the announcement and releasing the song.
But she told Associated Press, “Super Bowl is one thing, new music is another thing. Do you hear that, fans? The second that I announced this, I said, 'Oh, my God, they're going to think my album is coming. I need to get to work.'”
The track was written by James Fauntleroy, Terius "The-Dream" Gesteelde-Diamant, Robyn Fenty, and Ludwig Göransson.

The previous song “Lift Me Up” reached No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the UK SIngles chart.
The film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” was directed by Ryan Coogler, staring Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Dominique Thorne, Florence Kasumba, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett.
