Dora Jar Releases New Song “Spell”
- American singer-songwriter Dora Jar released a new song “Spell” along with a music video on October 21, 2022.
The song is the follow-up to “Bump”, which was released last month.
It was written by apob and Dora Jar. Produced by apob, Dora Jar and Jeremy Freedman.
The accompanying video was directed by Erica Snyder and Dora Jar herself.
Dora Jar said of the song, “‘Spell’ is a song about the feeling of calm before the storm, a pensive reflection and anticipation of change, a wish for a deeper understanding of nature, and a yearning to know my role within the ebb and flow. I usually get seasonal depression in October, which is also my sister’s and my birth month, so I wanted to release it as a gift to honor the melancholy of transition.”
Dora Jar embarks on her first North American headlining tour. The tour kicks off at Center Stage in Atlanta, GA on November 3, 2022 and will conclude at Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA on November 30, 2022.

She said of previous song “Bump”, “I wrote ‘Bump’ when I was living in Poland and for the first time in my life I didn’t really know anyone in that city except for the family I was staying with so I wasn’t bumping into people I knew anywhere. This song felt like a prayer to encounter a meaningful coincidence and eventually it began happening, not with people I knew, but I would see images from dreams manifest in real life, and it sparked this feeling that life had been waiting for me to take note of all the little details because they are leading me somewhere. I drank a lot of black tea with family during this time & became obsessed with teapots. I had an image in my brain of a long human with teapot feet.”
