Thomas Rhett & Katy Perry Drop New Music Video for “Where We Started”
- American country music singer-songwriter Thomas Rhett and American singer-songwriter Katy Perry have dropped a new music video for “Where We Started” directed by Patrick Tracy.
The song is the title track of his sixth studio album “Where We Started”, which was released back in April.
It was written by Thomas Rhett, Katy Perry, Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley and Jon Bellion.
This marks the first collaboration between Thomas Rhett and Katy Perry.
“Working with Katy has been a really collaborative process,” Thomas Rhett said. “From tracking the song in the studio, to performing on it American Idol, to this video–her input has made this whole experience really special for me.”
Katy Perry added, “I loved being able to create a dreamy world for 'Where We Started,' going back to the Nashville singer-songwriter roots of where I started.”
Thomas Rhett told Apple Music about the collaboration with Katy Perry, “I really didn't have any intention of having a feature on this track, but my label was saying, like, 'Hey, this would be cool with maybe a female feature.' And I was like, 'Well, who are y'all thinking that you want to ask?' And they said, 'Katy Perry.' And I literally laughed. I was like, 'There's no way that she is going to, first of all, like this song, or, second of all, have any interest in doing a song with me.' And she literally got back with our management the next day and said yes. And that's just a God thing. You can't make that stuff up. I've been a fan of Katy since I was like 14 years old. In my opinion she's a pop icon of my generation.”
