Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Lyzzie Releases New Song “IJWYD”
Toronto-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Lyzzie released a new song “IJWYD” on October 7, 2022.
The song is her third single off of her upcoming debut EP, following “Perfect Lies” and “Graveyard”
It was written by Victoria Dobson and Jonathan Karkar. Produced by Andre Kaden Black.
Lyzzie said of the song, “'IJWYD' is my not-so-subtle hint about what I wanted to say to a former partner but never did at the time. A grown man fell in love with me when I was in high school. I've felt a lot of conflicting emotions surrounding this relationship: disgust and anger but also heartbreak and betrayal.”
She continued, “This song has taught me that I'm allowed to be mad and upset. It was a terrible situation, and it caused a lot of turmoil in my life. I can be over it completely and still be upset about the situation itself.”
She added, “I've been on a huge journey to self-discovery and self-love. I'm making decisions for myself and doing what makes me happy. I was so nervous to release this song because of the dark content. But now, I'm the most excited I've ever been! I can’t wait to share my debut EP with the world.”- Photo by Aleksandra Stevanović
