Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ RAYE Premieres New Song “Escapism.” featuring 070 Shake on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter Rachel Agatha Keen, aka RAYE premiered a new song “Escapism.” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo on October 12, 2022.
On the track, she teamed up with American rapper 070 Shake.
This marks the first collaboration between RAYE and 070 Shake.
The track was written by Rachel Keen, Mike Sabath and Danielle Balbuena. Produced by Mike Sabath.
RAYE told Clara Amfo about the song, “I love this song so much. This is one of my most played songs, my own songs that I'll get in the car. I love it. It just I find it so empowering and also I feel like all humans, all of us go through patches where we're just like, not ourselves running away from reality as fast as you can to that.”
She said of 070 Shake, “I just wanted everyone I did a song with to be a genuine friend and she is like flippin love to girl she's such a sick is and to be honest, when I was going through last year, I spoke to her she has such an amazing mentality. Like she just doesn't care about anything else other than the art like her mentality is insane. And I love it. And she was right for the song. You know, I played her and she loved it. That just felt right.”
She released another new song called “The Thrill Is Gone.”
The track was written by Rachel Keen, Anton Göransson, Isabella Sjostrand and Mike Sabath. Produced by Mike Sabath and Rachel Keen.
