Copenhagen and London-based alt-rock band Looney Gloomers released a new song “Muscles” on September 16, 2022.
The song is the lead single from their upcoming sophomore album.
The band wrote recorded and mixed the song in only 20 days.
It was written by Mikkel Toustrup Hansen, Mads Bunch Johansen, Jacob Utzon Krefeld, Mathias Møller Jørgensen and Søren Buhl Lassen.
Looney Gloomers said of the song, “This song is an important one for us. We really wanted to create a piece of music that, like a great book, will inspire and make you wonder. The beauty of Steinbeck’s ‘Grapes of Wrath’ is that it’s the ultimate tragedy but at the same time it really gives you so much hope. We think ‘Muscles’ channels this perfectly.”- The new album follows up the 2021 debut album “House of Dying Days”.
This time the band took a huge risk in making yet another concept album, but contrary to their debut, the process of rapid, impulsive writing and recordings was in conceptual focus.
The band said, “We really try as much as possible to bend and merge modern genres, whilst unfolding a lyrical cosmos of metaphors and fragile self-deprecating narratives. It has given our band the opportunity to play around with the boundaries of a novel genre we like to call New Now.” - source : Apple Music
