  • Kodaline Drops New Live Video for “Wherever You Are”

  • Back in June, Irish rock band Kodaline, consisting of Steve Garrigan (vocals/keyboards), Mark Prendergast (guitar), Vincent May (drums) and Jason Boland (bass), announced their acoustic live album “Our Roots Run Deep” would be released on October 14, 2022.

The band recorded the album at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin.
The album comprises 17-track, featuring 14 original songs and 3 covers, and produced by Phillip Magee.
Kodaline said of the live album, “This album is something we've wanted to do for a very long-time, it's also something entirely new to us. It's a stripped-down acoustic show with no click, which basically means, it's very raw and unfiltered. We wanted to try and capture the energy and atmosphere of the night as best we could. It was an intimate show recorded in one of our favourite venues in the world, in Dublin City at home in Ireland. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed playing it.”

From the live album, the band has dropped a new live video for “Wherever You Are”, following a live video for “Brother”
The song appeared on their fourth studio album “One Day at a Time”, which was released in 2020.
It was written by Stephen Joseph Garrigan, Jason Matthew Boland, Vincent Thomas May and Mark Daniel Prendergast
Steve Garrigan said of the song, “I originally wrote this song as a present for my girlfriend. It's a song about being there for someone through thick and thin. It's a song from our 4th album 'One Day At A Time' and it's connected with a lot of people around the world and thanks to all the fans who message us about it. One of the first times we played this song live was in India in 2019, we don't usually play unreleased songs at a live show, so it was fairly nerve racking but fortunately the crowd loved it. We've gone on to play it at many festivals and full band shows but there was something magic about hearing the crowd singing along to this acoustic version in such an intimate setting. It's a moment we won't forget.”
