Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Boys World Releases New Song “SO WHAT”
American girl group Boys World, consisting of Olivia Ruby, Queenie Mae, Makhyli Simpson, Lillian Kay and Elana Cáceres, released a new song “SO WHAT” along with a music video on July 27, 2022.
The song is their third single since the 2021 debut EP “While You Were Out”, following “All Me” and “Something In The Water”.
It was written by Avonlea, David Wilson, Elana Caceres, Gino Barletta, Gino Barletta, Lillian Kay, Makhyli Simpson, Olivia Ruby, Paris "PJ" Jones, Queenie Mae Villaluz, and Wyatt Sanders. Produced by dwilly.
The accompanying video was directed by Alexandra Gavillet.
“We needed that time away to really figure out what we want our music to sound like,” Elana Caceres told Rolling Stone about the aong. “We’re growing into these young women.” Makhyli Simpson added, “We’ve experienced more, too.”
Queenie Mae Villaluz said, “We’re talking about more mature things in the music. And you get a little hint of that in this new record. It’s the bridge between us then and us now.”
Elana Caceres continued, “The album that got us through it all, and that we all collectively as friends listened to, was Planet Her by Doja Cat. And I feel like when we were writing this new music, we were like, ‘Can we write songs that we can have girls vibe in the car with their friends?’”
