Jesse Maxwell Releases New Song “outspoken”
- Toronto-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Jesse Maxwell released a new song “outspoken” on July 22, 2022.
The song will appear on his upcoming sophomore album “LP2”, which is expected to be released in August 2022.
It was written and produced by Jesse Maxwell Perez.
“Written about a romantic separation, 'outspoken' embodies the feelings of spite and emptiness that accompanies this kind of grief. My new song is a bit cold and a bit sultry,” Jesse Maxwell said of the song. “A blend of smooth R&B and bedroom pop, I used wobbly swelling synth and bold percussive elements. I had the idea for 'outspoken' to be simple yet effective in the production, and kept this feeling of space to mimic the mindset of the subject.”
He continued, “These walls are silent but they're outspoken is one of my favourite lyrics, depicting the complexity of the separation the character is going through.”
The new album is his first LP in two years since the 2020 debut album “Radio Silence”.
He said, “I feel like this album, LP2, sounds more authentic to what I want to sound like as an artist. I'm less afraid to be 'out there' and lately it's something I've been gravitating more towards.”
