TANDM Covers Counting Crows' “Accidentally In Love”
Toronto-based alt-pop duo TANDM, consisting of Maxine Beck-Sinderby (vocals/guitar) and Thomas Franklin (drums), joined in the cover album “Coverama”, which is set to be released on May 20, 2022 via Popguru Sound & Vision's boutique label, The Confidence Emperors.
It is a multi-artist album of unique cover versions recorded by the Popguru roster, featuring performances by John Orpheus, Alex Exists, Sam Casey, Ghost Caravan, TANDM and Juliana Eye.
From the album, TANDM released a cover of Counting Crows' “Accidentally In Love” along with a music video on May 12, 2022.
The original version of the song appeared on DreamWorks animated film “Shrek 2” soundtrack. It was released by American rock band Counting Crows as a single in 2004.
Maxine Beck-Sinderby said of the song, “Thomas and I spent hours digging through songs that we had considered covering in the past. The one that stuck out to us the most was a track from the film Shrek 2, which we had both listened to frequently as children. The song is full of sunshine and happiness, and, currently (with COVID-19's never-ending misery), we decided that Accidentally In Love would make for a very optimistic and hopeful cover that could brighten up our lives as well as the lives of others.”
