Tate McRae Releases New Song “what would you do?”
Canadian singer-songwriter Tate McRae released the fourth single entitled “what would you do?” from her upcoming debut album “i used to think i could fly” on May 13, 2022.
She teased the song on TikTok multiple times. It was written by Tate McRae, Alexander Glantz, Charlie Puth and Blake Slatkin. Produced by Alexander 23, Blake Slatkin and Charlie Puth.
She has already filmed a music video for the song, which will be premiered next week. Directed by Tusk.
Tate McRae said of the song, “I had no idea what this song was gonna be like when I was writing it. I wrote it with Charlie Puth and Alexander 23, and it was a really interesting situation, because I had no idea what Charlie was creating on his million different instruments that he was playing. I just started writing about these real feelings, and then, by the end, we were all like, 'What the hell did we just write?' This is such a crazy song. Writing with a tempo change was so foreign to me. It felt like a big risk for me to take as an artist.”- The debut album is set to be released on May 27, 2022 via RCA Records.
The album comprises 13-track, where she co-wrote songs with Charlie Puth, Finneas O'Connell (FINNEAS) and Alexander Glantz.
Recently, Tate McRae spoke to Seventeen in an interview about co-writing with FINNEAS. She said, “We wrote a song together and it was so incredible. I was nervous because he's got so much knowledge and is such an incredible producer and can play any instrument. Obviously, I've been a huge fan of Billie's forever, so I was a little starstruck walking into the room. I can't believe [Finneas] wanted to write with me. He started putting down these heartbreaking piano chords and we started writing this song — which is the last track on the album — and it was weird because I didn't even know that I was feeling this way at the time.” - source : Apple Music
