Working Men's Club Announces New Album “Fear Fear”, Shares New Song “Widow”
Back in March, Todmorden-based post-punk band Working Men's Club, consisting of Sydney Minsky-Sargeant (vocals), Liam Ogburn (bass), Hannah Cobb (guitar), and Mairead O'Connor (guitar/keyboards), announced their second studio album “Fear Fear” would be released on July 15, 2022 via Heavenly.
The album is their first LP in two years since the 2020 self-titled debut album.
Syd Minsky-Sargean said, “The first album was mostly a personal documentation lyrically, this is a blur between personal and a third-person perspective of what was going on.”
He continued, “I like the contrast of it being happy, uplifting music and really dark lyrics. It's not a minimal record, certainly compared to the first one. That's because there's been a lot more going on that needed to be said.”
From the album, the band released the first single called “Widow” along with a music video.
The track was written by Sydney Minsky-Sargeant and produced by Ross Orton.
Syd Minsky-Sargean said, “Me and Ross have worked tirelessly together on it this past year, and I'm really proud of the outcome.”
