Mickey Leigh's Mutated Music Releases Debut Album “Variants of Vibe”: Streaming
New York City-based rock singer-songwriter Mickey Leigh and his band Mutated Music, consisting of Mickey Leigh (guitar, vocals), Pat Carpenter (drums) and Westley Crawford (bass), released their debut album “Variants of Vibe” via Wicked Cool Records.
It is his first solo full-length release under the name Mickey Leigh's Mutated Music.
The album comprises 14-track, produced by Mickey Leigh. The band recorded at Mercy Sound Recording Studio in New York City.
Mickey Leigh said of the album, “Like every organic entity, music is perpetually re-adapting itself in order to survive = mutating. As we know, things we create also variate as they mutate. Mutated Music is what we are. Our new album presents a Variant of Vibe. This may sound complicated, but, it's only rock n roll. and we love it and don't want to see it become extinct! Mutated Music = Rescuing Rock 'n Roll, One Song At a Time.”- Mickey Leigh is better known as brother of Joey Ramone, lead vocalist of the punk rock band Ramones.
After Joey Ramone's death, Mickey Leigh published the book “I Slept with Joey Ramone: A Family Memoir” in 2009. The book is based on his experience growing up the brother of Joey Ramone in Forest Hills, Queens.
In addition to the debut album, Mickey Leigh is the executive producer of the upcoming Netflix movie based on his book. The film stars Pete Davidson as Joey Ramone, with a treatment written by Davidson and director Jason Orley. -
