BENEE Drops New Music Video for “Doesn't Matter”
Back in October, New Zealand singer-songwriter BENEE returned with “Doesn't Matter” since the 2020 debut album “Hey u x”.
On December 9th, she dropped a new music video for the song. Directed by Aidee Walker and Stella Bennett (BENEE).
BENEE said of the video, “'Doesn't Matter' is about how hard it can be to explain your feelings and emotions to people. Sometimes friends just being there for you is such a help. I'm so excited about this video; it was my first shot at co-directing with Aidee Walker. I came up with the concept, and she helped me bring it to life. I wanted the look of an old French indie film with a twist….and I love how it turned out.”
The track was written by BENEE and Josh Fountain.
She said, “This song ponders on what it would be like to feel truly carefree and how much easier life would be. Sometimes, it's hard for people who don't suffer from anxiety or depression to really understand what it's like for us. People telling you not to worry or saying 'It doesn't matter' don't understand that it's not that simple. Having had help to learn how to deal with my own anxiety and depression, I want others to know that there is a way through.”- Photo by Zara Mirkin
