blackbear Performs “hot girl bummer” on The Late Late Show with James Corden
American rapper blackbear appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden to perform “hot girl bummer”.
The song was released last August from his upcoming sixth studio album “sad but chillin”.
The title was considered a play on Megan Thee Stallion's song "Hot Girl Summer". But blackbear claimed that it was not a parody and was instead a reference to the "caption trend" of using the hashtag "#hotgirlsummer".
blackbear said, “Meg the Stallion song came out a couple of days after I actually recorded the song and I was like, “Oh, sick, this is sick.” I just thought it was cool but a lot of people don’t think it’s cool and I understand. I do understand, but at the same time this song has nothing to do with that movement or anything like that. I just kept seeing captions and I made a song about the captions I was seeing. So she obviously had a huge impact on all of culture, not just rap fans or anything like that because I guess I don’t listen to enough rap because I didn’t know too much about it. And then I’m just hoping she jumps on the song, like maybe she’d get on the remix.”- ZUyCivoopu4
