Jessie Reyez Announces Debut Album “Before Love Came to Kill Us”, Premieres New Song “LOVE IN THE DARK”
- Grammy-nominated Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez has announced her debut album “Before Love Came to Kill Us”, due out March 27th via FMLY and Island Records.
On January 23rd, a new song “LOVE IN THE DARK” was released from the album. The track is accompanied by the music video.
She first performed the song at a show in Toronto in October, 2019.
“I wrote this during a really sad time in my life,” she said of the song in a statement. “I remember crying. I hope people understand how vulnerable it is.”
The debut album “Before Love Came to Kill Us” comprises of 15-track, she tweeted, "My album is done. It's called Before Love Came to Kill Us. It's coming on March 27th and you can pre-save it and pre-order it this Thursday."
She received her first Grammy nomination, when the EP "Being Human in Public" was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards.
The ceremony is scheduled this Sunday (January 26) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
