British singer-songwriter Sam Smith is back with a new song “How Do You Sleep?”, his first track of 2019.
On July 9, he teased the song on Twitter and Instagram. The song is the follow-up to "Dancing with a Stranger", collaboration with Normani.
He co-wrote the song with Savan Kotecha, Max Martin and Ilya. The accompanying music video was directed by Grant Singer. In the clip, he dances with male dancers. Choreography by Parris Goebel.
“This year, both personally and musically, I feel so free,” Sam Smith said ahead of the video release. “More than ever I have had so much fun making this record and this video. Time to dance darlings.”
Back in January, he told Zayne Lowe (Beats 1 Radio show) about hint of the new song, he wanted to move on from straight heartbreak ballads. And he said it difficult to write lyrics about happy relationships which ‘hasn’t been my experience’.- source : Billboard
