Tulsa-based alt-rock singer-songwriter Casii Stephan has delivered a new song “Letters” via SoundCloud.
The song was premiered exclusively on IDOBI.
The song is her first single in a year since "GhostShips". She first performed the song at Soul City back in August.
The track is like a live recording as rock sound unlike previous song. It reminds us of Imagine Dragons.
She explained, “The band and I recorded it pretty much how we play it live. There are some additional parts, like the gang vocals at the end and some extra BGV’s, but overall you’re getting us live.”
On the song, she wrote about the frustrations of human connection, “It’s difficult having a lot of small talk, trying to connect with someone, but nothing happens. Instead you get hellos, silence, and ghosting,” she said. “Naturally I’m an idealist and an optimist. When disappointment hits, it hits me hard. In this song I get the chance to let that disappointment out, but the bridge still has that piece of me that will keep on hoping and keep on believing.”
She will support of Ranky Tanky at Gathering Place on November 7th and perform at IDL Ballroom on November 23rd.
