- Australian Indie pop singer-songwriter Amy Shark has released a new song “Don't Turn Around” with accompanying lyric video.
The song is taken her upcoming debut album "Love Monster", which is set to be released in July 13, 2018.
From the album, she already released "I Said Hi", and "Adore" which is include on her 2017's EP "Night Thinker".
She has worked with pop genius Jack Antonoff and producer Dann Hume on the album.
Jack Antonoff is known as lead guitarist of the indie rock band Fun, and a songwriter for Lorde, Taylor Swift, Pink, St. Vincent, Troye Sivan and MØ, among others.
She told JUNKEE. about collaboration with Jack Antonoff on the album in an interview;
"Well it started right there. We were with the same label and he contacted the label and said he wanted me to support Bleachers. So I went on tour with him, and we just formed this really great friendship. I was trying so hard to not be that guy, like “Oh my god can we write music together or can we do stuff and can we be friends??” I tried to be chill.
We hung out and got along really well and started talking about music and we have a lot of things in common that we like in music. So he plays a role in my record and it’s super exciting. I still can’t believe I have this massive producer in my phone — I was just texting him today."
She said of the album;
"I think I want to start explaining it like the first two seasons of a great series you've just found. It's full of so much drama. There's first loves, there's rejection and lies and beautiful moments and nasty moments and there's a death. It's a great series."
Recently, she contributed "Sink In" to "Love, Simon" soundtrack.
She will embark Love Monster Australian Tour in support of the album at HQ Complex in Adelaide on August 24, 2018.
Also, she will perform live on 2018 Lollapalooza and Life is Beautiful Festival 2018.
