Julia Michaels Premieres New Music Video for “Jump” featuring Trippie Redd
- American singer-songwriter Julia Michaels unveiled a new music video for “Jump”. She debuted the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live last month along with American rapper Trippie Redd.
The video was premiered exclusively on Complex.
The song is first single off of her her forthcoming debut full-length album. It was written by Julia Michaels, Nick Monson, Justin Tranter and Trippie Redd.
The music video sees Julia Michaels filming herself with a webcam.
Julia Michaels said of the song;
"I had actually written the melody and the word down in my voice notes in my car, sitting outside my house. Sometimes, for some reason, I’ll have these moments where I’m not quite ready to go in my house and I’ll just think of some ideas.
I brought it to the studio that day to my co-writer Justin Tranter and a friend of mine, Nick Monson. 'I have this idea! Could work, could not! Who knows? We‘ll see!' Justin and I would sort of start to form the rest of the melodies and the rest of the lyrics and from there Monson would be like, “Are you finished?! You good?” and then we’ll be like, 'Yup! Done! Cool! Do your thing.' and then he’ll do his own thing and spice it up. In about an hour it sort of all just came together and it just felt really perfect."
Recently, she collaborated with Keith Urban for his latest song "Coming Home", in which she was co-writing and performed as guest vocals. Also she appeared on the music video.
In addition, she joined in Shawn Mendes's latest album, where she performed "Like to Be You" as guest vocals and co-writer.
She has currently supported for Maroon 5's "Red Pill Blues Tour" North America leg through to October 15th.
