Candice Lee Premieres New Song “Permission”
- New Jersey-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Candice Lee premiered a new song “Permission” on September 14, 2021,
The song is her second single of 2021, following “How We Used To” released back in January.

“'Permission' is an electronic pop/rock empowerment anthem about standing up for yourself and knowing your worth,” Candice Lee said of the song. “I wrote this song after being lied to and after finding out that people were talking behind my back. This song represents my breaking point and serves as a reminder to not let people take advantage.”
She continued, “I recorded my vocals, guitar, and harp all at home, while working with a producer remotely due to the pandemic.”
In addition to songwriter, Candice Lee is known as a multi-instrumentalist, including guitarist, harpist, pianist, bassist, and ukulele player.
