Chloe x Halle Performs at NPR Music Tiny Desk (Home) Concert & The Honda Stage
- American R&B duo Chloe x Halle appeared on at NPR Music Tiny Desk (Home) Concert last December.
The duo performed “Don't Make It Harder on Me”, “Baby Girl”, “Do It”, “Ungodly Hour” and “Wonder What She Thinks of Me” from their sophomore album “Ungodly Hour”.
Chloe Bailey said before performing “Baby Girl”, “I know this year 2020 has been absolutely bonkers for all of us. For those moments where you kinda feel less than and you're not good enough ... that's why we wrote this song. ... Whatever happens, we'll be OK. And this is our world.”
After Tiny Desk Concert, the duo performed “Don't Make It Harder On Me” on the Honda Stage.
The new album was released in June 2020 and nominated for 2021 Grammy Awards for Best Progressive R&B Album. Also the duo received nominations for Best Traditional R&B Performance with “Wonder What She Thinks of Me” and Best R&B Song with “Do It”.
“I feel like we were more sure of ourselves, more sure of our messaging and what we wanted to get across in just showing that it's okay to have flaws and insecurities and show all the layers of what makes you beautiful,” Halle Bailey told Apple Music about the album. “I feel like we've come a long way and in our growth as young women, and you'd definitely be able to hear that in the music.”
Chloe Bailey added, “A lot of the world sees us as like little perfect angels, and we want to show the different layers of us. We're not perfect. We're growing into grown women, and we wanted to show all of that.”
