Ed Sheeran Returns With New Song “Afterglow”
Last December, British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran announced he was going to hiatus, “take a breather to travel, write and read. I'll be off all social media until it's time to come back. The Divide era and tour changed my life in so many ways, but now it's all over it's time to go out and see more of the world. I promise to be back with some new music when the time is right and I've lived a little more to actually have something to write about.”
On December 21st, he returned with a new song “Afterglow”. The accompanying music video was directed by Nic Minns and Zak Walters.
The track was written by PARISI, David Hodges, Fred again.. and Ed Sheeran.
He wrote the song last year. “Afterglow is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you. It's not the first single from the next album, it's just a song I love, and hope you love too. Enjoy! Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year's. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x.” he said.
The cover design of the single was painted by Ed Sheeran. He said, “Spent an entire month since tour ended painting, which I've never done before. Had so much fun doing it. If I'm honest I felt a bit useless once tour had ended, coz singing, writing and gigging is all I've ever known, so it's nice to find a new way to be creative.”- _NGQfFCFUn4
