YUNGBLUD Covers Taylor Swift's “Cardigan” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
- British singer-songwriter YUNGBLUD appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform “Cardigan” and “Strawberry Lipstick”.
“Cardigan” was released by Taylor Swift back in July from her eighth studio album “folklore”.
The song debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the chart week of August 8, 2020.
Tayler Swift tweeted, “WELL this took my breath away and I'm honored to hear Cardigan intertwined with the wonderful @AvrilLavigne's masterpiece 'I'm with you'. Bravo and thanks @yungblud!! 👏👏🙏🙏”
“Strawberry Lipstick” was released on July 16 from his upcoming sophomore album “Weird!”, which is out November 13, 2020.
YUNGBLUD said of the song, “'Strawberry Lipstick' feels much looser and more carefree than what we've heard from Dom over the last year, both via 'Weird!' and the underrated youth EP, and it's all the better for it. From the lustful shriek of 'She's gonna suck on my strawberry lipstick' in the second verse through to the shimmering howl 'You can have it all, if you don't take my heart' at the bridge that follows a heated guitar solo, this is a song fuelled by the sort of white hot passion and youthful vigour that rock music should always be inhabited by.”
