British singer-songwriter HRVY released a new song “25” on February, 9, 2024.
For HRVY, the song is the first release as an independent artist.
It was written by Harvey Cantwell, Maia Wright, Petter Tarland, and Albin Clern who also produced the track.
HRVY said of the song, “This is my first song as an independent artist and I couldn't be more excited for the rest of this year. Even though I mention 'quarter life crisis' a lot in this song. I genuinely have never felt so positive about the future.”
Last year, he left BMG after the release of the single “Stolen Heart”.
HRVY debuted with “Thank You” in 2013. He then signed with major labels Virgin EMI and BMG.
To date, he has released two EPs, “Holiday' and “Talk to Ya” via Virgin EMI, as well as his third EP, “Views from the 23rd Floor” via BMG.
However, last December, HRVY announced his decision to begin his music career as an independent artist.- HRVY wrote about his music career in the future, “Ever since I was a little boy I've always wanted to do what I'm doing now. I've dreamt of this life/career and so far it's been a pretty crazy ride. I've been in and out of major record deals since the age of 14. That came with many incredible moments but also some pretty dark ones. I've had the chance to travel the world, play sold-out shows and meet the most amazing people. I am forever grateful and lucky for that.”
He continued, “A lot goes on behind the scenes for artists. It's not always easy to do what you want to do and release music that you love. It's been a struggle and a fight for me. The last 10 years of being in this industry has taught me so much and again, I'm so lucky to be in the position I am in. My 25th birthday is around the corner (terrifying) yet that being said, I've finally decided to take things into my own hands. I can now put out music and create art that I am truly passionate about, without being told or manipulated into what I'm releasing.” -
He added, “This is a new chapter in my life and not just for my career but also personally. I want to look back in another 10 years with no regrets. It's still so crazy to me to think that we've created this little fan base (family). I love you all with my whole heart. 2024 is the year for us. I've never had such determination to succeed and I have so many people I want to make proud. So I guess I'm an "independent" artist now... but I don't feel alone. I've got a new team around me and I have you guys. I have watched friends and other artists go through this exact situation that are now thriving, which makes me so happy for them and makes me more confident in my decision.” - source : Apple Music
