Tara Lily Releases New Song “6 Feet Down” featuring Theo Croker
South London-based jazz singer-songwriter Tara Lily has released the first single entitled “6 Feet Down” from her upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released in 2024.
This time, she teamed up with American jazz trumpeter Theo Croker on the track.
The song sees the classically trained jazz musician go back to her roots, while expanding on the darker lyricism explored in her previous work.
The track is laced with late-night melancholy and dubbed-out instrumentation, as wavy Rhodes keys and Theo Croker’s signature trumpet, in symbiosis with her spectral vocals, creating a sombre soundscape.
Tara Lily said of the song, “It’s about finding your way out of the deep, dark place of sadness.. first taste of music from my debut album.”- The debut album is the first release under her new label Tru Thoughts.
She said, “I’m thrilled to be making the album I’ve always wanted to make on the innovative and excellent label Tru Thoughts.”
She added, “I wanted to go deeper this time. I wanted to get lost in a new soundscape. I’ve done that and the album will be out this year.” - source : Apple Music
