  • Stela Cole Returns With New Song “Die Hard”

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Stela Cole returned with a new song “Die Hard” on January 26, 2024.

The song is her first music in almost a year since the 2023 single “Roses”.
After the release of “Roses”, she decided to address her mental health, exit her label deal with Ultra Records, disconnect from social media, and focus on her guitar, the studio, and cherished records.
The track is the first release as an independent artist, and also is the first of her trilogy.
It was written by LOXE, David Burris, Ella Boh, Hollyn Shadinger, and Midi Jones. Produced by David Burris, LOXE, and Midi Jones.
The accompanying music video was directed by Maya Sassoon and Eliot Lee, co-starring Noah Gonzalez.
The dark pop track is about how “tumultuous relationships can feel like an endless cycle, especially when pain is disguised as passion,” Stela Cole said.
  • She continued, "This is something I struggled with for a long time. I'd let myself fall for someone I knew wasn't good for me, and even in moments of courage, I'd pack my bags and somehow end up right back where I started. Sometimes, habits take an entire lifetime to break. Die Hard is about my experience of consistently choosing the wrong path with the wrong people... even when I know where it ends."

  • Stela Cole shared on social media, “This new body of work is drastically different from anything I've released prior…and for so many reasons. But I think the most important factor that shifted my entire sonic and creative direction was healing and reflecting over the past several years of my life. I unlocked this vulnerability in my songwriting and was able to describe the complexity of emotions, rather than just channeling anger into my music. I'm finally ready to let the walls down and show y'all the endless cycle.”
