Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Glassio Returns With New Song “A Friend Like You” featuring Beauty Queen
Brooklyn-based Irish-Iranian singer-songwriter Sam R, aka Glassio returned with a new song “A Friend Like You” on September 20, 2023.
It is his first music in a year since the 2022 album “See You Shine”.
This time, he teamed up with Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Katie Iannitello, aka Beauty Queen on the track.
The track was written and produced by Sam R, with production by Shuta Shinoda.
Glassio shared on social media, “Such a huge thrill working with Beauty Queen on this track. This song speaks to that all too well known hiccup with making friends in all the wrong places.”
He continued, “AWorking on this track with Katie of Beauty Queen was a highlight of my Summer. I’ve loved her music for years now and was thrilled she was open to working on the song. Katie brought this track to life.”
He added, “This song has meant a number of different things to me over the course of creating it. It’s about desperately trying to feel understood / being constantly misunderstood, making friends in all the wrong places, and falling for frenemies that send you down a bad choice road.”- Glassio told C-Heads Magazine about working with Beauty Queen, “When I caught Katie’s (Beauty Queen) live set at The Echo in Los Angeles back in Nov 2021, I was blown away and knew I wanted to reach out about working on something together. It usually takes a little time for me to be comfortable with new collaborators, but I felt like we immediately clicked. Working on harmonies together and hearing the melodies come to life were absolutely thrilling.”
