  • Lexi Jayde Returns With New Song “bandages”

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Lexi Jayde returned with a new song “bandages” on August 23, 2023.

The song is her fist music since the 2022 EP “closer to closure”.
The track was written by Alexis Burnett, Jake Torrey, Ryan Rabin, and Ben Berger. Produced by Captain Cuts and Jake Torrey.
The accompanying music film was directed by Jake Cloobeck.
Lexi Jayde shared about the song on social media, “bIn July of last year. I took a massive writing break after I released 'closer to closure.' I was in a completely different stage in my life from when I wrote those songs on the EP. I spent so many months articulating that particular story, that once it was in the world I needed time to figure out who I was without that narrative. The first song I wrote after c2c was 'bandages'. At that moment in time, over a year ago, it felt like the perfect representation of the stage of my life I was in. I was no longer crippled by my heartbreak but I was undeniably terrified to fall for someone else. This feeling though wasn't a sad one. rather I felt empowered. 'bandages' is just that, it perfectly articulates the feeling of being afraid to fall in love again after a traumatic breakup but simultaneously feeling empowered and sexy. I couldn't find a song that described this stage in my life that was not sad. So I wrote one.”
  • She continued, “A year after I wrote that song. today. I have a new perspective. The truth is. after you go through something like the story told in 'closer to closure.' there will never be the right time to 'take those bandages off.' Rather it's about learning how to live with those scars from that relationship and move on and protect yourself. Feeling afraid to fall in love is a real feeling that many people feel. but we all have bruises from our past experiences. It is what makes us human. It isn't something to be afraid of, it is the roadmap of our heart that shows us where we have been and the places we can go. I hope you can listen to this song and find comfort in our shared experiences and that you listen to this song and feel nothing but empowered. Keep those bandages near your heart as a reminder of what you've been through. but don't be afraid to take them off. you deserve to feel loved.”
