Toronto-based folk-pop singer-songwriter Angela Saini released a new song “SAY” on July 7, 2023.
The song is the third single off of her upcoming sophomore album, following “In It for the Ride” and “It's Ok”.
It is a gentle reminder encouraging honesty and permission to express yourself without fear.
The track was written by Angela Saini and produced by Devon Lougheed.
Angela Saini said of the song, “This song is about honesty, and being afraid to express how you feel. I was feeling really stifled and stuck until I realized that the fear was self-imposed. I had this imaginary dialogue about how my words were going to land with the other person, but really, I could only be free once I let go of the fear and just expressed my feelings.”- She continued, “In the end, there wasn't any reason for me to feel as anxious as I did. I felt understood and heard, and it was worth the courage it took to just have that conversation.”
She added, “My music reflects my commitment to feeling empowered, joyful, and optimistic as much as possible. Every moment is a choice, and we can decide to align with our highest expression, or not. If I can lift someone up and make them feel better with my music, then I have succeeded in my vision.”
The new album is expected to be released early next year. -
