The Paper Kites Releases New Song “Black & Thunder”
Australian indie folk-rock band The Paper Kites, consisting of Sam Bentley (vocals/guitar/harmonica/mandolin), Christina Lacy (keyboard), David Powys (guitar), Samuel Rasmussen (bass) and Josh Bentley (drums), released the fourth single called “Black & Thunder” from their upcoming sixth studio album “At the Roadhouse” on June 30, 2023.
The song was recorded in the remote Australian village of Campbells Creek during the band's unannounced and unadvertised residency.
The track was written by The Paper Kites, and produced by Sam Bentley and Matt Redlich.
The accompanying live video was directed by Keiran Watson-Bonnice, who filmed at The Roadhouse in July 2022.
“That was a song that seemed to get people out of their seats,” recalls songwriter Sam Bentley of the song. “There was a woman who would come to every show and just dance by the fire all night. It was one of the many moments I remember thinking how alive The Roadhouse felt - so rich and vibrant with its many characters.”
The new album contains 16-track and is set to be released on September 1, 2023 via Nettwerk Music Group.
