London-based singer-songwriter Joyce Cisse, aka flowerovlove premiered a new song “Coffee Shop” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo on June 27, 2023
The song is the follow-up to “Love You”, which was released back in February.
It was written by Dan Smith, George Astasio, Jon Shave, Joyce Cisse, and Wilfred Cisse. Produced by Dan Smith, George Astasio, and Jon Shave.
The accompanying music video was directed by Sergio Jaen.
flowerovlove told Clara Amfo about the song, “I think obviously those are just so cute. They're just like these little mini cafes and like, it's not actually about the coffee because I don't think coffee tastes nice or smells nice. It just reminds me of English teachers. They come with their hot breath.”
He continued, “There's the thing. I don't actually go into coffee shops. So basically, it's actually about this grocery store, which is why the second line of the course is about take me down to the grocery store. I used to go to Tesco a lot. It's very specific Tesco and I was like coffee shop sounds way cooler than take me down to Tesco because what even is that? So I use coffee shop instead because I also I'm very obsessed with anything that's remotely in a Pinterest aesthetic. And coffee shops are very much.”- Photo by Finn
