Jules Paymer Releases New Song “Mommy Issues”
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Jules Paymer released a new song “Mommy Issues” along with a music video on June 2, 2023.
The song is their second single of 2023, following “The Daughter That My Mother Wanted” with Miki Ratsula, which was released back in April
It was written by Jules Paymer, Maize, and Zhone who also produced the track. The accompanying video was directed by Talia Stewart.
Jules Paymer said of the song, “For a song that seems so conceptually heavy, it's really just dirty, fun, and satirical. I was seeing a girl who was WAY too old for me and was trying to convince myself that I wanted to be with her. I think deep down she was actually just satisfying my messed up relationship with my mom. I think *maybe* she was helping me heal some old wounds.”
Also, they shared about the song on social media, “So one time I was seeing this girl who was way too old for me, and we were sleeping nice in her bed all cuddled up and her alarm went off at five in the morning. And I said, 'Why are we getting up right now?' She looked at me and she said, 'Well baby, I have to go to pilates.' She was so hot. So she went off to pilates and I went off and wrote the song.”
