Maisie Peters Releases New Song “Body Better”
British singer-songwriter Maisie Peters released the first single called “Body Better” from her upcoming sophomore album on January 27, 2023 via Gingerbread Man Records/Elektra.
It was written by Ines Dunn, Maisie Peters, and Matias Téllez who also produced the track.
“Body Better is one of the most honest songs I've ever released, and definitely the most personal,” Maisie Peters said of the song. “I wrote it after a breakup and it deals with the ugly things you think to yourself in the aftermath, when you're painstakingly going through everything small thing you did and were and wondering what you could have changed. It's a song about insecurity and vulnerability, about giving a lot of yourself away to someone who decides they don't want it anymore and knowing where to go from there.”
- She shared on social media, “body better, the first single of the new album, what a magical thing to say. it's a song about vulnerability and quiet, forbidden fury; about heartbreak and insecurity so deeply rooted you have no idea where it begins or ends. this song means so much to me and it feels very vulnerable to put into the world - it is irrational and embarrassing and painfully honest, and it is also one of my favourite things i've ever made, and felt like the only true and right way to start this album off.”
