French-Canadian dreamy pop singer-songwriter Margaux Sauvé, aka Ghostly Kisses released a cover of British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse's “Back to Black” on January 6, 2023.
Margaux Sauvé first covered the song back in 2016 and posted the video to YouTube. Since then, she has performed the song frequently in her concerts.
This time, the new single was performed with acoustic piano by Louis-Étienne Santais.
Margaux Sauvé shared on social media, “For those of you who've seen us play live, you know it is one of our classics. Our cover of Back to Black by Amy Winehouse is finally out.”
The cover song is her first single since the 2022 album ”Heaven, Wait”.- The original version of the song was released by late Amy Winehouse as the third single from her second and final studio album of the same name in 2006.
The track was written by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson, and produced by the latter.
The song reached No. 8 on the UK Singles chart and is her third best-selling single in the UK.
The album “Back to Black” became one of the best-selling albums in UK history.
Amy Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011, at the age of 27. -
