Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Iggy Pop Releases New Song “Strung Out Johnny”
American singer-songwriter Iggy Pop will release his upcoming 19th solo album “EVERY LOSER” on January 6, 2023 via Gold Tooth Records.
It is his first album in four years since the 2019 album “Free”.
From the album, he unveiled the second single called “Strung Out Johnny”, following “Frenzy” released back in October.
The track was written by Iggy Pop, Andrew Watt, Chad Smith, and Josh Klinghoffer. Produced by Andrew Watt.
Also the track was helped by Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan on bass and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith on drums.
The new album comprises 11-track, produced by Andrew Watt, featuring contributions from Duff McKagan, Chad Smith and the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who passed away in March.- Iggy Pop said of the album in a statement, “I’m the guy with no shirt who rocks; Andrew and Gold Tooth get that, and we made a record together the old-fashioned way.”
He said of Taylor Hawkins, “He drums up a storm on those tracks, and you can really hear it. He has this sort of bubbling quality, it’s really percolating. … Taylor came in with incredible style … I’m very fortunate to have that color on the record.” -
