Canadian DJ David Lotey-Goodman, aka Lowgo teamed up with Los Angeles-based producer Joseph Tilley to release a new song “Addict” on October 21, 2022.
It is his first music in two years since the 2020 debut EP “Up Up”.
This marks the first collaboration between Lowgo and Joseph Tilley.
The track was written and produced by David Lotey-Goodman and Joseph Tilley.
Both artists made the song last summer in Los Angeles. David Lotey-Goodman said of the song, “I made the beat for my new single 'Addict' with Joseph Tilley last summer. It was my first time there, so I didn't know what to expect. I landed, the weather was beautiful; I met Joseph and we began jamming. We were both fans of each other's music and instantly clicked musically. Joseph then wrote his melody and lyrics to the beat we made, and this is how 'Addict' came about.“- He continued, “We wanted to put into words how loving someone and having that love reciprocated is addictive. Although addiction is typically negative, as it is out of our control, their strong mutual connection brings to light a positive spin on being an addict.”
The accompanying music video was filmed by Tristan Renaud.
David Lotey-Goodman said of the video, “We decided to use a green screen and an old TV effect for the music video to give it a lighthearted, fun aesthetic. This works perfectly with the song, which is also joyous and doesn't take itself too seriously.”
He added, “This release showcases my ability to make pop music, which is something I've never fully committed to in the past. While some of my past singles are pop-inspired, this is a deeper dive into the genre.” - source : Apple Music
