Brazilian DJ Alok, British DJ Sigala and British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding teamed up to release a new song “All By Myself”.
This marks the first time Alok, Sigala and Ellie Goulding worked together.
The song samples British electronic music band Depeche Mode's 1989 “Enjoy The Silence”.
It was written by Alok, Andrew Wells, Anthony Rossomando, Ellie Goulding, Martin L. Gore, OHYES and Tom Mann. Produced by Alok, Sigala, OHYES and Andrew Wells.
Alok and Ellie Goulding met last month in New York, during the week of the United Nations General Assembly, where they talked a lot about the music and the processes of creating the single.
“I got this job through Ellie's record label and it was a big challenge, which I ended up being very happy with the result. We got really positive feedback from the radio and everything else,” Alok said of the song. “For me, every launch is a great event because it involves several processes that require, in addition to time, dedication and a lot of love for what we do. And this production with Ellie and Sigala was like that, very light and fluid, creating even more expectation for us to understand the results. And, in the end, it was exactly as we imagined, the best result that our audience deserves to hear.”- He continued, “I sent her a version that I thought was great, but then she wanted to fit a very small part and sent almost 30 audio channels of just this part, such is her perfectionism.”
He added, “The release with them was very smooth, they loved the version. A lot of people don't know 'Enjoy the Silence', which is a timeless melody that I particularly like a lot. I think that's a trend these days, where the artist works a classic melody and fits new choruses. The mix was very harmonic and, as she has not released music for a long time, I feel honored to be on her comeback”
Ellie Goulding said, “It was an amazing experience working with Alok and Sigala on this new track – they are unique and amazing artists and it was a delight for us to come together. I hope this song gives people the self-love and power I felt writing it. We need to make sure that we are loving and caring for ourselves so that we can receive the same from those around us.”
