Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ The Brevet Releases New Song “Safe”
Americana alt-rock band The Brevet, consisting of Aric Chase Damm (lead vocals/guitar), Michael Jones (piano) and David Aguiar (drums), released a new song “Safe” on September 16, 2022.
The band teamed up with American singer-songwriter Rob Thomas to co-wrote the song.
Aric Chase Damm had started releasing a solo project during Covid titled “CALIFORNIA GOLD” and Rob Thomas had heard a song from that project. The two connected and wrote “Safe” together.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jared Minnix.
The Brevet said of the song “’Safe’ is about the trials and tribulations that come with life. The hills and valleys, wins and losses. It is about how those challenges are so much better met when your significant other is by your side. I hope each person who listens can interpret the song how they see fit. On a personal level, for me, it's about the constant uncertainty of chasing my dreams as an artist while also wanting my wife to chase her dreams and us trying to support each other every step of the way."
Rob Thomas said, “In my experience, for every handful of songs you write a really special one comes along. This song felt really good when it was written but when I heard what the band did with it I felt like it was one of the special ones.”- Photo by Jared Minnix
