Toronto-based country music singer-songwriter Jason Maxwell has released a new song “For Now” via Glacier Bay Entertainment.
The song follows up “When You're In It” released last November, and is his first single of 2022.
It was written by Jason Maxwell, Elias Edlund, and Shawn Moore, who also produced the track.
He recorded the song at the world-renowned Blackbird Studios in Nashville.
The track is written as a vulnerable letter about his ex-girlfriend. Jason Maxwell told Country's Chatter about the song, “'For Now' is a genuinely loving…somewhat toxic…but straight from the heart message to my ex-girlfriend appealing to her that she can do better than my replacement. I truly want what is best for her. I'm just suggesting we should rekindle our relationship because what we shared in the past was, and is, greater than the love she now shares with her new partner.”
He continued, “Even though we had been broken up for a long time, I felt that things weren't fully over between us. I loved her and still saw a future together. It was disheartening to realize that our relationship was really over and that she had moved on definitively. I'm not perfect, but I'm real and I'm honest. There's got to be people out there who can relate!”
