BANKS Releases New Album “Serpentina”: Streaming
American singer-songwriter Jillian Banks, aka BANKS released her fourth studio album “Serpentina” on April 8, 2022.
It is her first album in three years since the 2019 album “III”
The album comprises 13-track, featuring guest appearance from New York-based singer-songwriter Samoht.
Produced by BANKS, Lido, TĀLĀ, Shlohmo, Orlando Higginbottom, Ben Darwish, Beat Butcha, Al Shux, and Gitty.
The album is inspired by gospel, jazz and soul music. Jillian Banks told Forbs about the album, “I think that there's a warmth and a brightness to some moments on this album that I haven't really had before. Getting into production and diving deep into Ableton gave me a lot of time. I've never engineered stuff myself, I never really had time to. I'm such a melody fanatic and I'm so obsessed with finding the absolute best melody you possibly can for chord progression. And I was able to sit and freestyle melodies for 30 minutes, go through those melodies, chop up certain moments. And I think when you're just on your own for so long and there's no time constraint it's so great to not feel pressured. I got really into gospel type of melodies and really soulful. I've always been into that type of thing and really soulful melodies, but it's like a new level on this album.”- She shared on social media, “SERPENTINA is out. Putting this album together actually put me back together. I hope it makes you feel empowered and understood. I hope you feel the brightness and the freedom I felt while creating it. I hope you feel like you are sitting right next to me when you listen. And I hope it makes you fall madly in love with yourself and your experiences. Oh SERPENTINA, I am filled with pride to be able to share you with the world. You helped me become the wild woman I want to be. I am SERPENTINA! I truly love you all and appreciate every person that connects to these songs. Let the melodies wrap around you and keep you warm. Make you sweaty. Make you feel good. Uplifted. Like you don't”
