Katy Perry Covers The Beatles' “All You Need Is Love”
- Gap teamed up with American singer-songwriter Katy Perry for a new holiday advertisement “All Together Now” campaign.
She released a cover of The Beatles' 1967 hit “All You Need Is Love” and appeared on TV ad.
"Reimagining one of the most recognizable and emotional songs of our time with an iconic brand like Gap, having such a special and important message, has been a dream,” said Katy Perry in a statement.
Gap has committed to donating $1 for every stream of Katy Perry's "All You Need is Love" on Spotify, up to $100,000, to Baby2Baby.
The original version of “All You Need Is Love” was released by The Beatles in 1967. The song reached No.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Record Retailer Chart.
Katy Perry shared on social media, “From folding sweatshirts at the Santa Barbara Gap to 20 years later, starring in a Mark Lee Romanek holiday campaign ❄️ dreams do come true! And Gap is also helping to make dreams come true for Baby2Baby 👶🏼 Starting today, Gap is donating $1 per @spotify stream of my version of the song featured in the Gap ad - up to $100,000 USD - to support @baby2baby’s mission to provide basic essentials to children living in poverty across the country.”
