Lauren Jauregui Releases New Song “Colors” from Debut Solo Project “Prelude”
- Back in September, Former American girl group Fifth Harmony and singer-songwriter, Lauren Jauregui announced her debut solo EP “Prelude” and a livestream performance via Moment House scheduled for October 14 and 15.
From the EP, she dropped a new song “Colors” on October 8, 2021.
It was written by Lauren Jauregui, Johnny Rain and Daniel Dalexis. Produced by Johnny Rain and Lentz Martin.
“When you paint a wall, you have to paint over what is underneath,” Lauren Jauregui said of the song, “The song is a literal conversation. When everyone is gone, it's just you and I. You can paint on the wall, but you can't erase them all. I'm letting myself know that no matter what is going on, I need to be okay with myself. You can't run away from yourself, because all of your layers are still going to be there. You need to learn to see them and accept them.”
She told Clevver News about the solo project, “I'm influenced by so many different genres of music. I grew up listening to a lot of different things. So, I think the most singular thing I could give you is probably like singer-songwriter energy because I write all my songs. And they are very much from the heart. There are like R&B elements, there is some reggaeton elements—all kinds really. There is a lot of guitar. It's an array of sounds, but cohesive, me.”
