Nelly Releases New Song “High Horse” featuring Breland & Blanco Brown
- American rapper Nelly released a new song “High Horse” from his upcoming third EP “Heartland”.
He worked with American singer-songwriter Breland and American rapper Blanco Brown on the track.
Three artist appeared on the 2021 Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series to perform the song on August 7, 2021.
The track was written by BRELAND, Rocky Block, Sean Small, Sam Sumser, Blanco Brown, Matt Thomas, Nelly, Dean Dillon, Frank Dycus and Alan Mevis.
The new EP is a Country project. Last October Nelly collaborated with American country music duo Florida Georgia on “Lil Bit”.
“I hope it opens people's eyes up as far as some of those minds that might've been closed to having the idea of Black folk being in country as much as possible, so to speak, and continuously to grow,” Nelly said. “But then also inviting more Black artists that are into country. Because I don't know if they know, but we're everywhere! You know what I'm saying?… So, I mean, yeah, man, you just want to invite more because you've got to understand – It's been a long time.”
He continued, “There's two things that I definitely believe in that brings people together, and that's been my whole life, and that's music and sports.”
He added, “Well yeah, it is a different project…The music, in a sense, is probably going to be a different feel other than probably what you would typically hear from a Nelly album. But the vibe is still going to be a Nelly album. Because if you know anything about how I like to create my music, it's more or less about the energy.”
The new EP is due out August 27, 2021.
