Samuel Jack Shares New Song “We Are The Future”, Covers Justin Timberlake's “Cry Me a River”
- London-based singer-songwriter Samuel Jack has shared a new song “We Are The Future” following the previously released “Feels Like Summer”.
This time, he features hip hop and poetry on the song. Samuel Jack said of the song, “Excited to share this tune with you. It’s not what you might have come to expect from me, but what with everything that’s going on in the world right now I was feeling inspired and got writing. We need some new energy in the influential offices of our world and it’s not coming from the top... it’s gonna have to come from a new grassroots generation. Bottom up. I look at the kids coming into the world today and I just feel like we need to do better. We need to shout louder and work harder and make real changes to how we do things. Just stop being selfish you know? We are THEIR future. We need to be the change and not stand down.”
After the release of the song, he covered Justin Timberlake's “Cry Me a River” on COVERS.
“Cry Me a River” was released in 2002 as the second single from his debut studio album “Justified”. It was inspired by Timberlake’s former relationship with pop singer Britney Spears. She recorded an answer song titled “Everytime” for her 2003 studio album “In the Zone”. The music video won the awards for Best Male Video and Best Pop Video at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
