Emmy nominated actress Anna Akana has released a new song “Alone Together” with an accompanying music video, directed by Maggie Levin. The video was premiered exclusively on Refinery29.
The song is taken from her upcoming debut album “Casualty”, following the debut song “Intervention”. The clip stars Anna Akana and Jenna Lyng Adams.
“I've been a filmmaker for the last decade, so visual media has come much more naturally to me than my venture into the music world,” Anna Akana told Refinery29 of her new video. “I wanted to showcase the story of two women who have broken up and are navigating that, but in a way that showed their similar journeys of suffering. Even if you're the person who breaks someone else's heart, there's pain in doing that, and I don't think we give enough credence to that side.”
The debut album “Casualty” is expected to be released later this year.
Anna Akana will embark on her debut headline concert at Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles on July 24th.- source : Refinery29
