- Vanessa Peters Premieres New Album “Foxhole Prayers” on Billboard: Stream
- Texas-based singer-songwriter Vanessa Peters will release her 6th studio album “Foxhole Prayers” on October 5, 2018.
The album is her first LP in two years since "The Burden of Unshakeable Proof". It is available to pre-order now here.
The album was premiered on exclusively on Billboard.
She recorded 16 tracks for the album, but finally she narrowed down to 10 tracks. Produced by John Dufilho and her husband Rip Rowan.
The album is inspired from "The Great Gatsby", which was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald and published in 1925.
"I'm a big English nerd, an English lit major, and that's my favorite book," Vanessa Peters said. "I've always wanted to write something along those lines. I was building off the idea of the Roaring Twenties and living in a world of corruption and grift. I felt like there were an awful lot of parallel lines between that time and this time, so I decided to run with it even though I'm not really a political songwriter. But on this record I just couldn't help myself." Also making it challenging, Peters add, is that, "most of the characters have massive personality flaws, and it just became difficult to write 10 solid songs about people who are just difficult to cheer for. So I shelved a couple of them."
She will embark on a mini tour in support of the album in the US. The tour kicks off at Dan's Silver Leaf in Denton on October 4th.
