Seven Day Sleep Releases Debut Song “Red Lipstick Murders”
Los Angeles-based alt hard rock/metal trio Seven Day Sleep has released a debut song "Red Lipstick Murders". The song is taken from their forthcoming debut EP "A Home For Disgusting Fairies", which is due out on June 2, 2017.
According to the band, the song title was inspired from the PS game "L.A. Noire".
The band has already filmed a music video with Little Sky Films, which will be premiered in a few weeks. The video was directed by Dan Kennedy and produced by Rasa Partin.
Seven Day Sleep consists of Okan Isik (guitar), Can Temz (bass/keyboard) and Sofia Ruszczyk (vocals).
Originally, the band was formed by Okan Isik and Can Temz in Turkey. In 2016, both of Okan and Can moved to Los Angeles, then Swedish singer Sofia Ruszczyk joined in the band to start as Seven Day Sleep.
Seven Day Sleep performs live at The Viper Room in West Hollywood, CA on March 14, 2017. Learn more information, click here.
About the song, the band told Vents Magazine in the interview;
"This song is about being yourself proudly. Fighting with the social judgments and sanctions. When you listen to the lyrics you can see how it’s telling a story about a witch who’s coven has been slaughtered by the other citizens just because they’re were witches. And the witch telling the story is the sole survivor and she decides to take vengeance upon the criminals by kissing them with a red lipstick and throwing their dead bodies to the bottom of the river. So the general idea of the song is everyone goes through rough situations in life and we all have fear and get judged but you can “kill” those negative things and push them aside to keep moving on with pride."-
