American singer-songwriter Andra Day released a new song “Phone Dies” on April 16, 2021 via Warner Records.
The song follows up the motion picture “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” soundtrack, where she performed three songs “Tigress & Tweed”, “Strange Fruit” and “All of Me”.
The track was written by Andra Day and produced by Anderson .Paak.
Back in December 2020, the film “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” was released via Hulu. She played as Billie Holiday in the film.
Also, she was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress, as well as won Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama at Golden Globe Awards. The ceremony of Academy Awards will be take place on April 25th.
She lost nearly 40 pounds and started drinking and smoking for the film. “'Intimidating' is not the appropriate word — 'fear of God' is appropriate,” Andra Day told Rolling Stone. “It was the scariest shit I've ever done in my life. Every day I just woke up being like, 'Today's the day I'm going to suck and they're going to fire me.'”
