Duncan Laurence Releases New Song “Rest In Peace”
Dutch singer-songwriter Duncan Laurence will release his sophomore album “Skyboy” on September 22, 203.
It is his first album in three years since the 2020 debut album “Small Town Boy”.
Duncan Laurence said, “I’m so happy the wait is almost over. We’ve been working on this album for over two years now. It’s been like therapy and so much more. I’ve poured my heart and soul into it. This journey has been one of self exploration, acceptance and dealing with a lot of lows from my past and trying to turn them into songs, music, art… It’s also been a form of reflection and recognition of how good my life feels and is right now and how much joy it brings me to live my dreams. YOU make that possible. I’m forever grateful. SKYBOY... a balance between the good and bad, the highs and the lows. I hope you will love it as much as I do.”
- From the album, he released the fifth single called “Rest In Peace” on August 25, 2023.
The track was written by Duncan Laurence, Jordan Garfield, Stephen Wrabel, Eric Leva and Sam de Jong. Produced by Sam de Jong.
Also, American singer-songwriter Wrabel performed as background vocals on the track.
He said of the song, “'Rest In Peace' is a song about a simple ultimatum given to someone who breaks your heart as it comes in and out of your life. I was a ghost, a prisoner of the house we built together. You came and went when you wanted. It was slowly breaking my heart. So I gave a simple ultimatum: love me or set me free. Love me...or let me rest in peace.”
